3.1 Getting Started
A complete overview of the Options module and its applications.


Application Purpose
Copy Options Between Divisions Purpose of application is to copy options, as well as, option takeoffs from one division to another.
Maintain Option Deposit Rates Purpose of application is to create new or update existing option deposit rates.
Maintain Option Groups The purpose of the application is to review/update existing options groups/subgroups or create new ones. For example, you can create an option group, flooring, and several subgroups for it, such as, hardwood, carpet and tile.
Maintain Option Relations The following application allows to review/update existing option relations or set up new ones. The purpose of option relation is to maximize sales of options (upgrades) but at the same time restrict the sales of those that cannot be sold together. For example, a purchaser may decide to change the standard sink (ST1012) to upgraded sink (PL1101) in such case purchaser may be forced to upgrade to faucet (PL2510 or PL2533). This is because the standard faucet cannot be installed with the newly upgraded sink (PL1101).
Maintain Options The purpose of the application is create/update options, as well as, set up scope and status.
Maintain Option Status Group Project Overrides Purpose of the application is easily disable from sales and/or decor departments certain option groups that are not ready yet while deploying new projects. For example, to restrict sales' access to options from Cabinets & Kitchen upgrades group, select Sales Module and Inactive status.
Maintain Project Options Included Purpose of the application is to set up included options for a project that are added to a lot automatically upon offer creation and/or a model/spec/inventory lot is sited. Once set up, the included options do not appear in Maintain Purchaser Agreements or Maintain Option Selections applications, and can only be seen via View Option Usage report. Update Lot Required Options Purpose of application is to update lot required options en masse, which may or may not have initially been set up in Maintain Lot Costing Information application. For details, see Maintain Lot Costing Information section of Job Costing training guide.
Update Option Calculated Prices Purpose of application is to calculate option selling price, as well as, update options priced explicitly. Some options' selling prices are calculated according to the markup percent defined in the option group or by the option markup. They could be adjusted to meet the minimum profit required or overridden by the minimum selling price.
Update Option Explicit Prices Purpose of application is to update options' explicit prices. These prices are calculated according to the markup percent defined in the option group or by the option markup. They could be adjusted to meet the minimum profit required or overridden by the minimum selling price. NOTE: Prices can be updated en masse for options whose prices are not driven from takeoffs, that is, the "Price Method" is set to "Explicit Price".
View Option Markup A report used to display option markup. Markup is an amount added to a cost price in calculating a selling price, especially an amount that takes into account overhead and profit.
View Option Prices A report used to display explicit option prices for selected projects, floorplans, elevations or lots. Option prices can be searched by room, group, description or ID. The more specific you are, the quicker it will take to compile a report.
View Option Relation Detail A report used to display option relations for selected options. Option relations can be searched by cause options, action options, keywords, etc. Templates can be created from reports and saved for easy future access.
View Options Report (Detail) A report used to show option prices, as well as, other details (e.g. option status, minimum profit). For example, you can run the report to see the price of hardwood floor in master bedroom, in project AS4. Templates can be created from reports and saved for easy future access.
