15.1 Getting Started
A complete overview of the Land Development module and its applications.


Application Purpose
Approve Lot Changes Purpose of application is to approve siting change requests that were made in Maintain Lot Information application. For details, see Maintain Lot Information section of this training guide.
Create Lots Purpose of application is to set up new lots.
Maintain Lot Floorplan Comments Purpose of application is to set up comments for a lot/floor plan combination.
Maintain Lot Floorplan Restrictions Purpose of application is to maintain floor plan status on a given lot. For example, you can deactivate floor plan A3002 for all open lots in project AS4. Templates can be created and saved for easy future access.
Maintain Lot Information Purpose of application is to request siting changes for a lot. Siting change requests remain in Pending status until they are approved or rejected in Approve Lot Changes application. For details, see Approve Lot Changes section of this training guide.
Maintain Plat Images Purpose of application is to upload and customize plat images. For example, you can specify where each lot will be located on the plat image or you can use it to see which stage each lot is at.
Update Lot Development Information Purpose of application is to allow warranty coordinators and managers to update lot setup/assignment information (e.g. who the decor rep was, who the super was). Updates can be performed on each lot individually or en masse.
Update Lot Information Purpose of application is to update lot status and floorplan/elevation. Updates can be performed on each lot individually or en masse.
Update Lots Architectural Information Purpose of application is to update lots' architectural information, such as, garage position, number of deck steps. Templates can be created and saved for easy future access.
Update Lot Transfer Budgets Purpose of application is to update lot transfer budget amounts (e.g. land, indirect and/or mlot budget amounts). Updates can be performed on each lot transfer budget individually or en masse.
View Plat Images Purpose of application is to view and print customized plat images. Templates can be created from reports and saved for easy future access.

Step Action
1. Open Approve Lot Changes application.
2. Enter a lot ID in the Lot ID input field or click on the link to find one.

NOTE: For a list of all lots with pending changes, click .
3. When you are ready, click .
4. Select a response to the siting change request: approve, pending or reject. If you are rejecting a siting request, you can enter the reason in the Enter a reason input field, which in turn will be automatically emailed to the requester.
5. When you are done, click .

2. Select a project, enter a new or existing plan ID and multiple lots, separated by commas, as in the example below.

Purpose of application is to set up comments for a lot/floor plan combination.

Step Action
1. Open Maintain Lot Floorplan Comments application.
2. Enter a lot ID in the Enter a lot ID input field or click on the link to find one.
3. Select a floor plan from the Select a Floorplan from Project... drop down list.
4. Click .
5. You can now enter a comment in the Comments input field.

NOTE: If you see a message about an unavailable floor plan, as in the example below, you can activate the floor plan for the lot in Maintain Lot Floorplan Restrictions application. For details, see Maintain Lot Floorplan Restrictions section of this training guide.
6. When you are done, click .

15.5 Maintain Lot Floorplan Restrictions
Purpose of application is to maintain floor plan status on a given lot. For example, you can deactivate floor plan A3002 for all open lots in project AS4.
15.5.1 Running a template
Step Action
1. Open Maintain Lot Floorplan Restrictions application.
2. Select a template from the Select a template drop down list:
  • To delete the template, click .
  • To view the template online, click .

    To create a duplicate of the template, fill out the form located at the very bottom of the page. You can make this template available either to all users or only yourself. Enter a new template name in the Save report as a template named input field, select user access (e.g. all users, only current user) from the For drop down list and click .

    To view the template in print mode and to print it out, click . Review and when you are done, click .
3. When you are done, click or .

15.5.2 Maintaining existing restrictions
Step Action
1. Open Maintain Lot Floorplan Restrictions application.

FORM FAQ
Select a Project to Update Select a project from the drop down list. This is a required field.
Select status of lots to update Output can be narrowed down to a specific lot status. For example, you can run the application to see all lots with submitted offers.
Select lots whose product type Output can be narrowed down to a specific type of lot (e.g. 22.0 TOWN).
Select floorplans whose product type Output can be narrowed down to a specific type of floor plan (e.g. 22.5 TOWN).
Select sort fields You can sort the output by lot ID, registered plan, etc. Make your selection accordingly.
Show lot info on the Lot information can be displayed on the left or right side of the screen.
Also display the following fields To add any additional fields (e.g. lot premium, comments), press and hold the key, while selecting.
Max number of lots before reprint floorplan row Column headers can be repeated after an X number of records. Select the number of records.
2. Fill out any of the search fields. Try to narrow down your search criteria as much as possible, to reduce the size and loading time. NOTE: The only required field is project.
3. When you are done, click .
4. Here is an example of Lot Floorplan Restrictions in online mode. NOTE: A checked off check box shows that the floor plan is allowed on the lot.

To add a comment to a lot for a specific floorplan, select the corresponding check box and press "c" on your keyboard.

A pop-up message will be displayed, prompting for a confirmation. Click .

You will now be transferred over to Maintain Lot Floorplan Comments application. Enter your comment in the Comments input field and click . For details, see Maintain Lot Floorplan Comments section of this training guide.


To create a template, fill out the form located at the very bottom of the page. Enter a template name in the Save report as a template named input field, select user access (e.g. all users, only current user) from the For drop down list and click .

If you intended to display different data and need to make some adjustments, click and modify your restrictions.

Maintain Lot Information
  1. Open Maintain Lot Information application.
  2. Enter a lot ID in the Lot ID input field or click on the link to find one.

    NOTE: Keep in mind that a closed lot cannot be sited/re-sited.
  3. Once you have selected a lot, click .
  4. Select a new floor plan and elevation that you want to assign to this lot. At this time, you may also change lot and production status.

    FORM FAQ
    Lot Status Select a lot status (e.g. deleted, open, spec).
    Lot Production Status Select a lot production status (e.g. model, non-saleable).
    Lot Floorplan Current floor plan the lot is sited with, if any.
    Lot Elevation Current elevation the lot is sited with, if any.
    Floorplan Requested To request a new floor plan for the lot, select one from the drop down list.
    Elevation Requested To request a new elevation for the lot, select one from the drop down list.
  5. When you are done, click . A siting change request email is sent out automatically:

    NOTE: Lot(s) siting requests can be approved in Approve Lot Changes application. For details, see Approve Lot Changes section of this training guide.

15.7 Maintain Plat Images
Purpose of application is to upload and customize plat images. For example, you can specify where each lot will be located on the plat image or you can use it to see which stage each lot is at.
15.7.1 Reviewing/updating existing plat images
Step Action
1. Open Maintain Plat Images application.
2. Select a project from the Project ID drop down list. NOTE: If you cannot find a project that you need, please use Adding New Plat Pictures section of this form and upload a new image.
3. Select a plat image from the Plat Picture drop down list.

15.7.2 Uploading and maintaining new plat images
Step Action
1. Open Maintain Plat Images application.
2. Select a project corresponding to the plat image from the Project ID drop down list.
3. Select the image to upload by clicking on the button.
4. In the Choose File window, navigate to the folder where the image is saved, select it and click .
5. Finally, you can enter a comment associated with the plat image in the Picture Note field and click .
6. Now you can customize your plat image by adding lots to it.

A few things to keep in mind while working:
  • If you planning to draw a lot, make sure you select Draw radio button first.
  • To change the location of your canvas (by clicking and dragging), make sure you select Drag Canvas radio button first.

    NOTE: To return the canvas to its original location, at any time, click .
  • To change the location of a lot, lot ID, lot number or construction stage (by clicking and dragging), make sure you select Drag/Select Shape radio button first.
Adding New Lots
To add a lot, you must first select the Draw radio button.

Next, select a shape (e.g. polygon) and color in the Control Panel, and proceed with drawing the lot. NOTE: Colors can be selected by clicking on the color palette icons (e.g. ).

Once you have completed drawing the shape, Lookup Lot window will be displayed. To assign a lot to this location, click on the link to find one and once you found one, click .

Here is an example of how your lot would look like.




Editing lots
To edit a lot, you must first select Drag/Select Shape radio button and then click on the lot you want to edit, to select it.

What you should see next is the Shape Properties section in the Control Panel. Here you can change the font size, lot color, etc.

  1. To delete a lot, click .
  2. To replace the lot with another one, click . Select a new lot and then click .
6. Continue adding new lots and when you are done, click .

Lot Address Contains You can search for lots by address. For example, you can enter "Yonge Street" or "B*" to search for all lots whose street name begins with "B".
Lot Zip Code Contains You can search for lots by zip code. For example, you can enter "M2M 3Z1" or "M2M*" to search for all lots whose zip code begins with "M2M".
Show Lots Where Do you want all of the report criteria matched or only some?
2. You can search for a lot by selecting a specific project or lot ID. Try to narrow down your search criteria, to reduce the time it takes to retrieve results.

Once you have made your selection, click .
3. A list of all lots is displayed.

Updating each lots individually:
Simply scroll down/up to the individual lot and update any of the following sections: lot information or warranty information. When you are done, click .


To update lots en masse:
This is useful in cases when, for example, you forgot to enter enroll fee for several lots.
  1. You must first select all lots, by clicking on the link located at the top right corner of the page.
  2. Next, scroll down to the very bottom of the page and update any of the following sections: lot information or warranty information.
  3. To preview changes, click . Note: To actually apply all changes, you must click .
4. When you are done, click .

Group by Product Type To group records by product type, select the check box.
2. You can search for a lot transfer budget by selecting a specific project or floor plan ID. Try to narrow down your search criteria, to reduce the time it takes to retrieve results.

Once you have made your selection, click .
3. A list of all lot transfer budgets is displayed.

Purpose of application is to view and print customized plat images. Templates can be created from reports and saved for easy future access.
15.11.1 Running a template report
Step Action
1. Open View Plat Images application.
2. Select a template from the Select template drop down list:
  • To delete the report template, click .
  • To view the report in print mode and to print it out, click . Review the report and when you are done, click .
  • To view the report online, click .

    To create a duplicate of the report template, fill out the form located at the very bottom of the page. You can make this report template available either to all users or only yourself. Enter a new template name in the Save report as a template named input field, select user access (e.g. all users, only current user) from the For drop down list and click .

15.11.2 Creating a new report
Step Action
1. Open View Plat Images application.

FORM FAQ
Project ID Select a project for which you want to view plat image.
Plat Picture Select the image you want to view.
Show Lot ID If you want to display lot ID in the report, select Yes. To select a background color for the lot ID label, click on the color palette icon.
Show Lot Number If you want to display lot number in the report, select Yes. To select a background color for the lot number label, click on the color palette icon.
Show Lot Stage If you want to display lot stage in the report, select which one you want to display (e.g. current stage, no stage). To select a background color for the lot stage label, click on the color palette icon.
Show Lot Status Shading Lots, of different status types, can be displayed in different colors. For example, model home lots in red, sold lots in green. Select Yes to display different color schemes.
Show Lot Status Shading Criteria Default color schemes are set up for each lot's status type, however you can overwrite this by selecting your own custom colors. Simply click on the color palette icons and the select the colors you want. NOTE: This section is only available if you selected Yes from the Show Lot Status Shading drop down list above.
2. Select a project and plat image, and fill out any of the other form fields.
3. When you are done, click or .
4. Here is an example of Plat Images report in online mode.
