8.1 Getting Started
A complete overview of the Construction Scheduling module and its applications.


Application Purpose
Assign Lot Schedule Purpose of application is to assign or re-assign schedule templates to lots. Only, validated templates can be assigned as lot schedules.
Assign Multiple Lot Schedules Purpose of application is to assign schedule templates to multiple lots simultaneously.
Display Schedule Templates Purpose of application is to display details of a schedule template using 2 different list views (e.g. alphabetical or sequence order) or using Gantt chart.
Distribute Schedules The objective of this application is to retrieve and distribute schedules to supers and vendors, via fax and/or e-mail. Main goal is for the vendors to know when they need to perform a task, which task and on what lot. Supers can use the distributed schedule for reference purposes.
Maintain Construction Clerk Projects Purpose of application is to assign construction clerks to projects. A single clerk can be assigned to one or more projects, while single project can have one or more clerks assigned to it.
Maintain Construction Clerks Purpose of application is to review/update existing clerk's contact information, project assignment, etc. As well, you can grant clerk status to a new user.
Maintain Holiday Sets Purpose of application is to review and update existing holiday sets and dates, or create new ones. Holiday sets can be vendor specific (e.g. vendor's vacation schedule for 2008) or apply to everyone equally (e.g. 2008 - statutory holidays). Each holiday set can contain one or more holiday days.
Maintain Lot Schedule Purpose of application is to review and update lot's schedule. You can release lot to a new construction stage or change the progression status. As well, you can update scheduled start/end dates, regular tasks, cost types, punch tasks, etc.
Maintain Lot Scheduling Information Purpose of application is to review and update existing scheduling details of a lot or set up new ones (e.g. submission dates for variety of building permits).
Maintain Punchout Common Purpose of application is to review or update existing, most commonly used, punchout types or create new ones. A punchout, also referred to as punch task, is an action that must be performed to fix a deficiency (e.g. fix paint, clean up). The punchout types created in this application are utilized by Maintain Lot Punch Task and Update Multiple Schedule Lot Task applications in PDA module.
Maintain Schedule Stop Reasons Purpose of application is to review/update existing reasons for stopping a schedule or to create new ones (e.g. lot closed). Reasons created within this application are then utilized in Stop & Restart Lot Schedule application, where you must select a reason before being able to stop or restart a schedule.
Maintain Schedule Tasks Purpose of application is to review or update existing schedule tasks or create new ones (e.g. install garage door). Once you've created a task, you can add it to a schedule via Maintain Schedule Templates application.
Maintain Schedule Task Variance Types Purpose of application is to review/update existing task variance types or create new ones. Task variances are reasons a task may have fallen behind schedule or completed ahead of time (e.g. snow storm - weather delay).
Maintain Schedule Templates Purpose of application is to review or update existing schedule templates or create new ones. A division may build just one template that covers all types of construction, it may build one for each type of construction or it may build numerous templates that cover numerous types of construction combined with popular options. As well, a template can be built to cover a single option or a section of construction (e.g. fence).
Maintain Schedule Template Types Purpose of application is to create new template types or review/update existing ones (e.g. F - Floor). Consequently, these template types are used by applications, such as, Maintain Schedule Templates, to define the type of scheduling template.
Maintain Scheduling Calendars Purpose of application is to review/update division-wide or vendor specific scheduling calendar(s).
Maintain Scheduling Stages Purpose of application is to review/update existing scheduling stages or create new ones (e.g. excavate basement).
Maintain Super Projects Purpose of application is to assign supers to projects. A single super can be assigned to one or more projects, while single project can have one or more supers assigned to it.
Maintain Super Project Stages Purpose of application is to assign supers to projects. A single super can be assigned to one or more projects, while single project can have one or more supers assigned to it.
Maintain Supers Purpose of application is to review/update existing super's contact information, project assignment, etc. As well, you can grant super status to a new user.
Maintain Vendor CS Contacts Purpose of application is to review/update existing vendor's contacts or set up contacts for new vendor.
Maintain Vendor Schedule Release Sets Purpose of application is to review/update existing vendor's release sets or set up new release sets for a vendor.
Maintain Working Hours Purpose of application is to review/update existing working hours or create new ones (e.g. 9:00 - 17:00).
Maintain Work Week Types (Corporate) Purpose of application is to review/update existing work week types or create new ones (e.g. Four-day week). The initial setup of working hours is done in Maintain Working Hours application.
Maintain Work Week Types (Division) Purpose of application is to activate/deactivate work weeks for one's division. The initial setup of work week types is done in Maintain Work Week Types (Corporate) application.
Reassign Lot Schedule Supers Purpose of application is to reassign construction stages from one super to another.
Stop & Restart Lot Schedule Purpose of application is to stop/restart lot schedule(s) due to external factors (e.g. purchaser cancelled or busted out).
Update Lot CS Information Purpose of application is to update lots. Updates can be performed on each lot individually or en masse. For example, you can change drawing information or grading requirements.
Update Schedules Purpose of application is to update schedules and tasks. For example, you can change cost types or insert new tasks. Updates can be performed on each task individually or en masse.
View Closing List Report A report that allows users to view lots' closing dates: either actual, offer or current ones. You can narrow down your report output by project or time frame. The more specific you are, the quicker it will take to compile a report. Templates can be created from reports and saved for easy future access.
View Construction Progress Purpose of application is to display a milestone based report of current construction progress for specific lot(s) or project(s). For example, you can view the current stage a lot is at now. You can narrow down your report output by project, lot, etc. The more specific you are, the quicker it will take to compile a report. Templates can be created from reports and saved for easy future access.
View Lot Start Summary Purpose of application is to view a list of current lot starting statuses in report form. For example, you can view all lots that have been sold but construction has not yet begun. You can narrow down your report output by project(s), lot(s), etc. The more specific you are, the quicker it will take to compile a report. Templates can be created from reports and saved for easy future access.
View Milestones Purpose of application is to view milestone tasks for project(s) or lot(s). A "milestone" is the last task in a stage.
View Milestones Summary by Lot Status A summary report, which allows users to view the quantity and status of milestone tasks by lot and/or construction status. Templates can be created from reports and saved for easy future access. NOTE: Only milestones that are progressing, have been complete or approved will display in the report.
View Schedule Template/Lot Pert Diagram Purpose of application is to view construction schedule for a template or lot as Pert diagram.
View Pre-Start Schedule Report This report is similar to a checklist customized for GGH to show them when they are supposed to get what done. Templates can be created from reports and saved for easy future access.
View Punch Task Detail A report that allows users to search for punch tasks. You can narrow down your report output by project(s), lot(s), room(s), etc. The more specific you are, the quicker it will take to compile a report. Templates can be created from reports and saved for easy future access. NOTE: A punch task is not related directly to a lot task. It's simply a fix that needs to be performed during or after the lot task's completion.
View Schedule Adherence This report allows users to view schedule adherence. Templates can be created from reports and saved for easy future access.
View Schedules Purpose of application is to display a report of all existing schedules for given project(s). For example, you can display all active schedules for super John Smith. You can narrow down your report output by project, stage, etc. The more specific you are, the quicker it will take to compile a report. Templates can be created from reports and saved for easy future access.
View Schedule Status Detail Purpose of application is to view schedule status details for specific project(s) or lot(s) in report form.
View Task Completion Purpose of application is to display completion status of all tasks in report form.
View Task Delivery Dates A report that displays key or non-key task delivery dates. Almost like a schedule that gets sent to a vendor for them to know when something needs to be delivered for a specific lot (e.g. deliver windows on June 1, 2009 for lot 63117). You can narrow down your report output by project(s), lot(s), etc. The more specific you are, the quicker it will take to compile a report. Templates can be created from reports and saved for easy future access.
View Task Detail Report Purpose of application is to display a list of tasks, which meets specific criteria, in report form. For example, you can search for all tasks with task ID's containing the word "Order" or search for all milestone tasks. Templates can be created from reports and saved for easy future access.
View Task Lot Projection Purpose of application is to allow vendors to view which tasks they need to perform on which lots and when in report form. You can narrow down your report output by project(s), lot(s), etc. The more specific you are, the quicker it will take to compile a report. Templates can be created from reports and saved for easy future access.
View Tasks By Lot This report allows users to view a list of tasks of different statuses, belonging to different projects, lots, supers, etc. For example, you can search for milestone tasks that haven't been completed yet in lot 63117. Templates can be created from reports and saved for easy future access.
View Task to Task Frequency Purpose of the report is to display the number of calendar days it takes between 2 requested tasks (e.g. from scheduled completion of RELEASE_START_PACKAGE to scheduled completion of POUR_SLAB, or from approval of POUR_SLAB to approval of FRAME_INSPECT) by lot and the average by project in a given time period. You can narrow down your report output by project(s), lot(s), etc. The more specific you are, the quicker it will take to compile a report. Templates can be created from reports and saved for easy future access.
View Task Variance Causes Purpose of application is to view the causes of task variances. Templates can be created from reports and saved for easy future access.
View Task Variance Report Purpose of application is to view, print or e-mail task variance report(s).
View Transmission Purpose of application is to display a list of transmissions, usually schedules in calendar format, sent via Distribute Schedules application in report form. You can narrow down your report output by vendor ID, date, etc. The more specific you are, the quicker it will take to compile a report.
View Work Calendar Purpose of application is to view super's calendar for a given time frame.
View Work in Progress Purpose of application is to display a week based report of current working progress for specific lot(s) or project(s). For example, you can view the current stage a lot is at now. You can narrow down your report output by project(s), lot(s), etc. The more specific you are, the quicker it will take to compile a report. Templates can be created from reports and saved for easy future access.
